Ariel! How I've missed you!

Home sick today... Yuck!
Honestly, I thought I had been sick enough but noooooooo...

Right, right sorry, enough of my sob story.

After going so long without drawing Disney, I thought I should give it a try again, and man did I miss it!  Of course I chose to draw Ariel (I loove her)!

Anyways, off to draw more!

Comics

For a while I have wanted to make little comics. Years and years ago I made stick man ones, which I will scan and post because they are pretty funny!

Anywho, I made one today for fun. Hope you enjoy it!

life drawing!

So in the spirit of needing way more life drawings, I spend almost all day yesterday going to the mall and a life drawing session with Karly.  I am pretty pleased, need more though. Enjoy.

A fun poem for you all-

Big, small, thin, fat,
drawing with my thinking cap.
all this worry,
in a hurry
I think its time for a nap.

Is there anything big and exciting coming up for you that requires preparation?

Crunch Time!

It is mid March, which means I need to hand in my Portfolio to the animation program in about two weeks!!

That means that all the things I have been putting off drawing (like hands, feet, buildings and real life faces) must now be drawn.  Here are some drawings I have been doing, though most of them are just practice for the real drawings I need to do.

In other news, I just got over being sick and it feels WONDERFUL!

I pretty much read Winnie the Pooh the whole time I was sick, which is what inspired this silly poem-

sitting
sitting
sitting
waiting

waiting
waiting
waiting
dying

dying
dying
dying
crying

Crying till I'm bored no more.

Yes I know that one is depressing, but I was soo tired of being sick!

lying here, lying there
sinking in a solid chair
watching, waiting
contemplating
life inside this borish lair.

Even though they are both depressing, they were fun to write. I think at one point I made up a song about Karly (my friend in animation who was with me) preparing to die. She was a little scared, but hey, I enjoyed it!

Do you have any songs or poems you like to sing to yourself, that help you through the day (question mark)
(darn button isnt working again)

Rebellious pencils

I have these days where my pencil hates me and purposely makes my drawings sub-par. Sometimes you dont want to be mean to this pencil, because it has served you well in the past and really its the only one you can find at the moment. But the little bugger has an attitude problem and likes to rebel.

That is my weird introduction to explain that for a week or so, everything that I drew did not live up to my expectations.  I had lost my inspiration.

Here are some of the drawings I did on those days ( I did not put them all up cause the others were not even slightly good.)

Now you may be thinking, "those are not horrible" and I agree, but they did not feel right or live up to what I had wanted to draw.

Understand?

Anyway, then I went to the mall yesterday because that is a place just exploding with inspiration! And you know what? Im so very glad I did. It got me excited again! A few people even came over and complimented me on them.  Usually I just get the creepers who walk by (thinking they are clever) and peek over their shoulder. But I know... I know!

Inspired by an old man with basically a hunchback and a long face!

The one called "eighteen flavors" was inspired by a poem from the book Where the Sidewalk Ends. Amazing book by the way!

So I am going to try and post more regularly, as I keep saying I will do.  I need to keep practicing!  My portfolio is due in less than a month.... EEEP!!
