I am reading a book at the moment called Mermaid: a twist on the classic tale.
So far I love it! It is quite a bit darker than say, the Disney version, but it is very enchanting all the same. I won't ruin it for you, but at the part I am at right now, I don't know if I want this character to go through with something. It's a big decision.
I drew this, based on the original story by Hans Christian Anderson. I do not know if the mermaid dies in this one, lets hope not! I love her the most out of the two characters.
So basically this is a mermaid reading the story of The Little Mermaid. Her sister does not take the story seriously, as you can see.
Out of these two characters, I am most like the brunette. When I start reading something, I usually attach myself to the characters and am devastated when something bad happens to them. When a book is really good my emotions tend to revolve around the part I am at in the story. It's not always healthy, haha!
The blonde doesn't really get to caught up with books and that sort. She lives in the moment and loves to be entertained. A very outgoing sort of person.

Anywho, I am off to the mall to find inspiration for characters, wish me luck!
I completely get attached. I have been known to cry my eyes out when a beloved character dies. Hope it has a happy ending!

Me too! I was just on the bus reading and I didn't even realize that my face was so crinkled with worry. Haha
